transport & equipment
In the field, Wilcox utilise automated machinery run by skilled operators
to ensure produce reaches the packhouses in prime condition. Packhouses
are equipped with efficient cleaning, grading and packing equipment
enabling orders to be processed on time. Orders for supermarket chains
can be met within twenty four hours.

Wilcox operate cultivating and harvesting equipment and the transportation
fleet throughout the North Island. All equipment is looked after in
their own workshops. Equipment is selected and upgraded for durability,
efficiency, low emissions and minimal environmental impact.
Glen Wilcox, Director estimates about 90% of Wilcox's cartage between
paddocks and the packhouses is handled by the company trucks with
some of the 'finished product', such as bagged potatoes for supermarkets,
contracted to carriers.
He says. "We use our own trucks because this enables us to maintain
close control over the total operation and contain costs. The trucks
don't stand still very often, and they aren't empty very often".
